"I started in the truck stop game in my youth. Back then sleeper cabs weren't all the rage like they are today and a driver struggled to drop his load and find a pillow to rest his head on. My mother used to take in drivers and give them a bed to sleep in for the night. I'd wash up their tractors with a hose and clean up the cabs for them.

That's where my nickname spit shine came from because the drivers used to tell me their cabs never looked so good after they left mama's house. I got to know the personal side of trucking and it forever shaped my approach to the truck stop business. Taking care of drivers the way Mama Herniple did is the guiding principle of what we do at Celina 52 Truck Stop."
